We love animals; we love creative baking ... and that's how it all began!

After a combined 48+ years in education, we put our heads together and opened a new chapter in our lives. Paw Lickin' Good Treats was born in the fall of 2004.

We started out as an on-line bakery producing unique, homemade, healthy treats for your four-legged family members. It didn't take long for us to grow and expand. In June, 2005 Carol and Jody opened a small shop in Lincoln, Nebraska and expanded into a bakery/boutique.  What fun we had! While still working in academia, Carol and Jody baked and staffed the shop around class schedules. As the months rolled by we found ourselves more and more addicted to the dream of expanding and pursuing the pet business full time. That dream came true in August, 2006.

In August 2006 we opened a new shop in DeKalb, Illinois. Paw Lickin' Good treats expanded to include  "What A Good Dog! Training." Jody is an Animal Behavior College certified dog trainer. She offers classes in the shop and individual training in the home. Her Ph. D. in psychology and strong background in education is a big bonus to her work with both dogs and their people!

With the new in-store bakery we have expanded the variety and availability of our baked treats. The fun dog and cat products that we carry are ever-growing. Recently we expanded our dog and cat food lines so that we can meet the needs and nutritional well-being of  even the pickiet eater. We are having a great time!
